Description
Nebra HNT Indoor Hotspot Miner
Nebra HNT Indoor Hotspot Miner earns its cryptocurrency HNT when devices connect to it, as well as for certifying peer-to-peer wireless coverage. Hotspot Miners earn more HNT when they’re in range of other miners, using a method called Proof-of-Coverage, but they must be at least 300 meters apart.
The range is determined by the surrounding environment:
- 10 kilometers or more in rural areas.
- 1 mile in dense places.
Because single HNT Hotspot Miners may only issue Challenges via the internet and cannot participate in Proof-of-Coverage, they earn less.
The Hotspot Miner is a smartphone app that sets up in minutes. The indoor model is this version. The Nebra Outdoor HNT Hotspot Miner has the same functionality as the Nebra Indoor HNT Hotspot Miner, but in a more durable outdoor casing.

Nebra Indoor HNT Hotspot Miner
The Nebra HNT Indoor Hotspot Miner is available in three frequency options:
- 470 MHz (CN470) is a good frequency for China.
- 868 MHz (EU868, IN865, RU864) – this frequency is suited for the European Union, India, Russia, and a number of other countries.
- 915 MHz (US915, AU915, KR920, AS923-1/2/3) – appropriate for the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and a number of South American and Asian countries.
- If you’re not sure the frequency you require, use our “What Helium Region”.
The frequency plan for the LoRa concentrator (for example, US915 or AU915) is automatically determined in the Nebra HNT hotspot miners depending on the place that you specify for the “location assert.” This implies you can relocate it to a new site with a different frequency plan and it will auto-update within the frequency variants (470 MHz, 868 MHz, 915 MHz).
This only works inside a single frequency, thus you can switch from a US915 to an AU915 location, for example. However, you can’t switch from a US915 location to an EU868 or CN470 location without replacing the concentrator module.

Until now, typical coverage miners used Raspberry Pis to help them cope with the demands of the underlying blockchain math that logs the proof of network coverage. Any LoRaWAN hotspot (Nebra HNT Indoor Hotspot Miner for example) can now run code that allows it to join the Helium network and send data packets thanks to the data-only mining feature update.
These data-only hotspots will not be able to mine for HNTs as part of their coverage, but they will be rewarded with tokens for data transfer. Both are done by the elder miners. This will strengthen the network and enable more people to engage.
Customers are required for any network to be successful, even if it is a peer-to-peer network based on cryptocurrencies. This is where Senet and Actility’s latest announcements come into play.
Customers can use both private and public LoRaWAN networks that they operate or manage. Both companies can now allow their consumers to roam on the Helium network. This expands Actility and Senet’s coverage region for companies such as Volvo, Cisco, Schneider Electric, and others. It also raises demand for Helium’s network by validating and validating it.
As Helium’s network grows, it will move from mining tokens for proof of coverage to mining tokens for data transfer. Helium, on the other hand, gets its money by holding HNTs after open-sourcing the code that makes up the network and its blockchain. Think of it as a real estate investment trust (REIT) built on HNTs. To maintain the value of HNTs high, the network must remain stable and dependable, and network users must continue to purchase data credits.
